Wise Business Adds 8 New Currencies for Non-Resident LLC Accounts (April 2026)

April 19, 2026Thomas Thevenard

Wise Business expanded its supported currencies from 15 to 23 in April 2026, adding Indian Rupee (INR), Thai Baht (THB), United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED), and five additional emerging-market currencies. The expansion allows non-resident LLC owners to hold, transfer, and receive payments in 23 currencies without currency conversion fees. This is the largest currency expansion Wise Business has announced since launching US LLC support in 2023.

What Changed

Newly supported currencies (8 total):

  • Indian Rupee (INR)
  • Thai Baht (THB)
  • United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED)
  • Philippine Peso (PHP)
  • Brazilian Real (BRL)
  • Mexican Peso (MXN)
  • Singapore Dollar (SGD)
  • South African Rand (ZAR)

Wise Business previously supported 15 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, NZD, SEK, NOK, DKK, CHF, JPY, CNY, HKD, PLN, and RON (as of March 2026).

Impact for Non-Resident LLC Owners

Non-residents forming US LLCs often receive payments in their home currency. Previously, Wise Business would convert to USD, triggering conversion fees (~1.5-2%). Now:

  • UAE founder receives AED → Wise holds as AED → converts to USD only when needed → saves 1-2% per transaction
  • India-based founder receives INR → Wise holds as INR → no conversion fee unless moving to USD

For a founder receiving $50,000/month in mixed currencies (30% AED, 20% INR, 50% USD), potential savings: $100-200/month.

Comparison: Mercury vs Relay vs Wise Now

Relay1 (USD only)N/ASpeed, simplicity
Wise Business23 ✅ NEWFreeMulti-currency, intl transfers

What This Means for International Founders

Wise Business is now the dominant choice for:

  • Founders with revenue in multiple currencies
  • Businesses operating across multiple countries
  • Anyone receiving international payments regularly

Mercury and Relay remain better for pure USD operations and founders wanting simplicity over currency features.

How to Set Up Multi-Currency Accounts

  1. Open Wise Business account (non-residents welcome)
  2. Verify your US LLC with certificate + EIN
  3. Add currency accounts (select from 23 available)
  4. Receive payments in home currency or USD

The expansion is automatic for existing Wise Business customers—no action required.

Remaining Limitations

Wise Business does NOT support:

  • Crypto deposits/withdrawals
  • Equities/stocks
  • Direct Stripe payout integration (unlike Mercury)

For founders needing Stripe direct payouts, Mercury remains the best option despite its single-currency limit.
